Where BFS can add value

High-active serum fit

VC, PDRN, peptide, hyaluronic-acid and repair-positioned formula directions can be reviewed for single-dose use. Compatibility, stability and the intended application need project-specific validation.

Define the amount for one application

Agree the intended amount, then test fill volume, dispensing and residual product with the actual formula before writing the use instructions.

Glass alternative for channel tests

BFS can be reviewed for ecommerce, travel, creator seeding, GWP and routine kits where fragile glass creates shipping or handling friction.

Finished product project

Your team can discuss formula source, NDA transfer, filling route, secondary packaging, quality documents and pilot MOQ before building a launch SKU.

Review glass handling and transport

Compare opening instructions, protective packaging and shipment tests with your current glass ampoule before choosing an alternative.

Compare the sampling experience

Test sachet and ampoule samples with your target users. Opening, dispensing, presentation and total pack-out cost can matter differently by channel.

Decide between one use and repeat use

Compare a one-use ampoule with a mini bottle against the intended routine, handling instructions and amount needed per application.

Formula and project fit limits

Good fit

Single-dose serums, essences, boosters and topical cosmetic liquids where trial quality, travel convenience or channel sampling matters.

Needs review

Thicker gels, high-solids formulas, volatile actives, unusual opening requirements or projects with strict decoration expectations.

Usually not a fit

Projects needing very low-cost giveaway sachets only, regulated non-cosmetic applications, or formulas that are not ready for compatibility discussion.

From formula review to a production plan.

Capacity review starts with fill volume and mold route. Final feasibility depends on formula behavior, unit shape, opening style, tooling, QC plan and line schedule.

Plan from 10,000+ filled ampoules per formula for BFS production. A 5,000-unit BFS run is not currently confirmed; smaller runs require written factory approval. Final MOQ depends on formula, fill volume, tooling and pack-out. Public output references are not a guaranteed quote.

Tell us what you want to make.

Start with your formula status, fill volume, channel and packaging target. A focused pilot should answer a launch question and create a clear scale-up decision.

Request a BFS quote
  • Formula status and whether the formula is locked or still being modified
  • Target fill volume and expected use per application
  • Viscosity, sensory target and any known active sensitivity
  • Primary sales channel: DTC, distributor, clinic / spa, retail, GWP or private label
  • Estimated pilot quantity and target commercial run after feedback
  • Secondary packaging idea: loose units, strip, tray, carton, kit box or display set
  • Destination-market regulations, material preferences, sustainability goals and any requested blend proportion
Questions to define the pilot
  • Is your team trying to improve trial quality, travel convenience, GWP response, distributor sampling or professional-channel handoff?
  • Which current format creates the main friction: sachet, mini bottle, vial, glass ampoule, dropper or bottle + applicator?
  • Does the project need a one-use sample, a multi-day routine, a channel-exclusive SKU or a full commercial replacement path?
  • Which fill volume should be tested first so the user can finish one application without waste or confusion?
  • What result would justify scale-up: reorder intent, better feedback, easier explanation, lower breakage or stronger perceived value?
What the pilot should prove

The format is easy to explain

Your team should be able to describe the ampoule as a single-use serum, essence or booster route without needing a technical BFS lesson.

The pack suits its target users

Use sample feedback to check whether the opening, dispensing and presentation support the intended trial kit or GWP experience.

The use case is narrow

A focused first test, such as one hero serum in a 7-day routine, is usually stronger than trying to replace every package immediately.

The next order path is visible

Before the pilot starts, the team should know what feedback, campaign result or channel response would justify a larger run.

Common project questions about BFS ampoules.

Answers about filled BFS skincare manufacturing, formula transfer, production quantities, costs and quality evidence.

Do you manufacture filled BFS skincare ampoules for private label brands?

Steridose Labs coordinates BFS skincare OEM/ODM from formula development or transfer to filled ampoules, labelling and finished cartons or kits. Blow-fill-seal forms, fills and seals the container in one process. The proposed formula, material, fill volume, testing and selected production site must be agreed for the actual project.

What is the MOQ for BFS skincare manufacturing?

BFS production starts at 10,000 filled ampoules per formula. Smaller BFS runs require written factory confirmation. Traditional ampoules have a separate 5,000-unit minimum. Formula samples and assembled kits are counted separately from filled production units; the quotation confirms component minimums and the final pack.

Are ampoule materials limited to LDPE?

LDPE is one material option, not a requirement for every project. We select the material route around destination-market regulations, brand sustainability goals and formula compatibility. Materials intended to support those goals can be incorporated at a project-specific proportion, subject to sourcing documentation, molding and filling trials, seal integrity and stability validation. The material type, proportion and supporting environmental claims are agreed during project review.

When should a skincare brand consider BFS ampoules instead of sachets?

Compare both when planning a serum, essence or booster sample for trial kits, GWP, travel sets or professional handoffs. Test opening, dispensed amount, residual product, formula compatibility and user response with actual samples, then compare the complete pack-out cost. Neither format has a universal advantage in dose delivery or perceived value.

Can BFS ampoules be used for a glass ampoule alternative pilot?

Yes. A brand does not need to replace its full glass ampoule line immediately. A focused BFS pilot can test one channel first, such as a travel set, GWP insert, distributor sample, clinic/spa handoff or limited discovery kit, while the team compares breakage, logistics, user feedback and perceived value.

What fill volumes are usually reviewed?

BFS ampoule projects are typically reviewed around 0.5ml–10ml, while larger or special formats should be evaluated separately. Broader 0.5ml–20ml small-dose skincare liquid projects, depending on format and use case, can be reviewed outside the core BFS ampoule route. Final feasibility depends on formula behavior, unit shape, opening style and secondary packaging.

Can buyers use their own formula?

Yes. Buyers can request an NDA before sharing a proprietary formula route. Steridose Labs can review client-supplied formulas, factory R&D formula options or formula modification needs, then discuss whether the liquid is suitable for BFS review based on viscosity, sensitivity, target fill volume, presentation and pilot use case.

What information is needed before quotation?

A useful brief includes formula status, target fill volume, liquid type, desired opening style, current packaging, pilot quantity, launch use case and secondary packaging direction. It also helps to explain the commercial question: trial kit conversion, GWP response, travel routine appeal, distributor feedback or glass ampoule alternative testing.

What should a BFS contract manufacturing quote include?

Compare quotes for the same formula, fill volume, accepted quantity, testing and finished pack. Ask which costs cover development and samples, tooling, filled ampoules, quality testing, labels, cartons, assembly and freight. Separate one-off work from repeat-order production costs and confirm exclusions before approving the project.

Does BFS packaging make skincare sterile or preservative-free?

The BFS process name alone does not establish product sterility or a preservative-free formula. Review the actual formulation, manufacturing controls, package integrity, stability and applicable microbiological testing with the selected production site. Claims and preservation requirements must be supported for the product and target market.

What evidence should buyers review with a BFS skincare manufacturer?

Agree formula and package specifications, representative sample approvals, fill and seal acceptance criteria, compatibility, stability and applicable microbiological testing. Check the document holder, production site and scope for any quality-system reference. Record who contracts, manufactures, tests and releases the batch for your project.
